Safety Window Film

Information on window films to add safety to glass (Health & Safety Regulation 14)

Glass Protection Window Film Gives Added Safety To Glazing

Safety window film is designed to bring sub standard glass to the required safety standards in line with Health & Safety Regulation 14 and conforms to BS6206 Class B. Safety window film is designed to meet the same standards as laminated and toughened glass and holds harmful shards in place in the event of an impact, reducing the risk of injury and death. The safety window film is visibly clear to the eye but also has the added benefit that it stops over 98% of harmful UV rays helping to drastically reduce fading of furnishings.

The Workplace (Health, Safety, Welfare) Regulations 1992

Safety Window Film

Health and Safety Regulation 14 was brought into effect to make sure all glass in public buildings below a certain height are safe. Safety glass or safety window film (which is a lot more cost effective than replacing sub standard glass for safety glass) should be fitted in all glazing that falls below 800mm from the ground. This is true for child minders who look after children at there home, schools & offices, in fact any building used for work by the public. On top of this - all glass door panels that fall below 1.5 metre's should either be safety glass or safety window film (and conform to BS6206 Class B - which our safety window film does!). Also, any glass panel within 250mm of a door would be fitted with safety Glass or safety window film if it falls below 1.5 metre's. Check out our article for full details of the The Workplace (Heath, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992.
